What is Love Them to Death?
Wouldn’t you love the honour and privilege
of working up close and personal with
beautiful lion cubs? … Bet you would!
The chance to handle and care for these creatures is one that many people would jump, sing and dance for. Each year, people in the tens of thousands, pay for the privilege of getting up close and personal with what is arguably one of the planet’s most dominant predators.
However, there is a darker reality to this, the handling of cubs is in effect the kiss of death for these awe-inspiring predators. The dealers of these cubs are usually masquerading themselves as conservation organizations or rescue/rehabilitation centers.
Love Them to Death is a group of students at the University of Exeter; working to promote the hidden reality of the lion cubs used in the adventure travel industry.
